A Weird Chemical Dr. Wiggy Recommends for Blood Sugar

Dr. Wiggy is known for his reliance on all-natural treatments for a variety of issues.

Because that’s true, people come from all across the South to see him.  Especially when it comes to thyroid health and improving blood sugar.

So if Dr. Wiggy is all about “natural treatments” then why does he recommend a chemical every day?

It’s a good question. While the all-natural health movement tends to talk negatively about “chemicals” you can’t go along with that kind of thinking since everything is made of chemicals.

Natural treatments have their biological basis in chemical structures.

To say something is “chemical-free” is a false dichotomy since there isn’t a thing on Earth that isn’t made of chemicals.

However, there are synthetic chemicals, and many of these synthetic chemicals are the kinds that Dr. Wiggy tries to avoid when helping people heal themselves naturally.

One of his favorite chemicals for helping support people’s blood sugar is berberine.

The way Dr. Wiggy talks about berberine you might think that it’s a plant.

Surprisingly that’s not the case. As Healthline reports: “Berberine is a bioactive compound that can be extracted from several different plants, including a group of shrubs called Berberis.

Technically, it belongs to a class of compounds called alkaloids. It has a yellow color, and has often been used as a dye.”

So berberine is a chemical, and that chemical is one of Dr. Wiggy’s favorites for helping people with blood sugar issues.

How This Weird Chemical Affects Your Body’s Blood Sugar Balance

Almost every single chemical you place in your body will have an effect on your cells.

Front water (H2O) to mercury (Hg), there are varying effects chemicals have on us.

When it comes to berberine we have a significant understanding of how it works.

For thousands of years ancient cultures in the Far East used berberine without knowing exactly how it influenced our biological systems.

Now we know exactly how this chemical compound influences our cells

Like many chemicals once you ingest it your stomach will send it to the intestines where it’s quickly diffused into your bloodstream and sent around your entire body. As it races through your arteries and makes its way into veins and capillaries various cells will receive berberine and allow it to influence how it operates.

Once inside your cells berberine will bind with receptors in your cells and immediately influence how they function.

Whether you’re aware of this or not, this pharmacological effect is the same kind of effect pharmaceutical companies seek to replicate when developing drugs.

When it comes to blood sugar support, berberine has a unique property in that it changes how an enzyme inside cells called AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) operates.

As Dr. Wiggy has written about previously, AMPK regulates your metabolism and when berberine affects its function it actually “tricks” your body into thinking it’s just worked out. That’s a simplistic way of explaining a very complicated pharmacokinetic reaction.

The point is by introducing the chemical berberine into your bloodstream you can help support blood sugar balance in a way that could otherwise be achieved by hopping on a treadmill or lifting weights.

AND there aren’t many other chemical compounds on Earth that do that.

Plus, berberine’s ability to influence AMPK is just a small fraction of what it may be able to do.

Additional studies show that it can help to boost brain function, support cardiovascular health, and may even affect how our genes work and when they turn on or off.

The point being?

Berberine is easily one of the best chemicals you could take to support great health and now you can see why Dr. Wiggy recommends it so much.
