The Exciting Reason Colloidal Silver Might Be the Future of Effective Medicine

It Can Help You Fight Off Werewolves and Infections

If you’re keen on any of the popular fiction in the world, ya know, Twilight and all that good stuff, you’ll know werewolves are quite sensitive to silver.

A silver knife or a silver bullet is all it takes to do those mystical creatures in for good.

Well, it turns out there’s quite a bit of scientific research to back up the protective qualities of silver.

Colloidal silver is a suspension of silver in a liquid  (oftentimes water) that can be taken by mouth, or placed on open wound sites, to help fight infection among other things.

I won’t dare risk my reputation or my license and say colloidal silver is the “silver bullet” needed to cure all sorts of maladies…

But I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a powerful and natural alternative to many popular pharmaceutical products.

What I’m going to do in this article is share a few of the reasons I think colloidal silver should be in everyone’s medicine cabinet.

The Surprising Benefits of Colloidal Silver

For decades, colloidal silver’s been used to help fight diseases and battle infections.

The reason behind this is its a known antibacterial agent.

Instead of fighting fictional monsters, it can actually work against known superbugs. And the best part about how it works against these superbugs is it helps fight them without giving them the ability to build up tolerances to the silver.

Larry C. Ford was a doctor who worked for the UCLA School of Medicine. In several experiments with colloidal silver, he was able to show there were as many as 650 “bugs” which couldn’t stand up to colloidal silver.

Within mere minutes they died when exposed to it.

Kind of like a vampire in sunlight…but that’s a different kind of monster series, so I digress.

Truth be told, in an age where pathogens are beginning to become resistant to many of the popular antibiotics used by medcial professionals, this is really good news!

Basically, it means colloidal silver is effective at killing many of these pathogens outright and they can’t grow to fight it another day.

And, with as many as 23,000 people dying every single year from antibiotic-resistant bacteria, there’s even more reason to put it in to use.

The other benefit to colloidal silver is it’s quite safe to use.

Unlike antibiotics which can wreak havoc on your immune system, silver works much more symbiotically with your body.

Since most colloidal silver contains very small amounts of silver in water, it can be used both topically and orally with great benefit.

Plus, as you just learned, it doesn’t promote antibiotic resistance in these pathogens, which means it doesn’t help breed “superbugs” which can be quite dangerous to the human body.

It should be noted that as a metal, it will accumulate in your body. That means it should only be used when needed, and not for general, everyday use.

At least that’s what some of the research indicates.

We do know it can take a while for silver to leave the body, so I would treat it like a regular medicine and not for general everyday antiseptic use.

Here’s what Dr. Mercola says about safety for silver use:

When purchasing colloidal silver, it’s very important to avoid silver protein formulas.

True colloidal silver seems to be the most recommended, but ionic silver could probably also be used. In the featured study, they used ionic silver (Ag) in a silver nitrate salt (AgNO3), which, again, was found to be quite non-toxic in animals and human cell cultures. Substantial antimicrobial activity was found at 30 microns (μM) against E. coli.

If you take ionic silver products according to the manufacturer’s recommended dosage, ionic silver will not cause argyria . That said, since there are potential health risks involved if you select the wrong formula, I recommend you use colloidal silver only under the guidance and supervision of a qualified alternative health practitioner who can help you select a high-quality product.

Also, since it’s antibacterial, it’s advisable you take it with a probiotic. That’ll keep existing healthy bacterial cultures alive and well in your body.

But you should be taking a probiotic anyways, so consider that my reinforcement of good advice.

You don’t want to use colloidal silver and kill of all the good stuff now do you?

Not too sure I can work in a monster joke there…

So How Does It Work?

According to Dr. Axe, there are three main ways Colloidal Silver works against pathogens.

  1. Catalytic Oxidation: Silver naturally holds onto oxygen molecules, which readily react with the sulfhydral (H) groups that surround bacterial and viruses. In turn, this helps block the life-preserving cellular process known as cellular respiration, which is defined as “the set of metabolic reactions and processes that take place in the cells of organisms to convert biochemical energy from nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and then release waste products.”
  2. Reaction with Bacterial Cell Membranes: Silver ions can attach to bacteria cell membranes directly and produce the same respiration-blocking effect.
  3. Binding with DNA: Shown to literally enter bacteria DNA, up to 12% of silver has been detected in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. According to one source, “While it remains unclear exactly how the silver binds to the DNA without destroying the hydrogen bonds holding the lattice together, it nevertheless prevents the DNA from unwinding, an essential step for cellular replication to occur.”

The information quoted above comes from Richard Davies and Samuel Etris of The Silver Institute and a report they wrote on colloidal silver in 1996.

Basically, it works like a heat-seeking silver bullet that eliminates its target on contact.

Now that you know that, it’s time to learn the appropriate times to use it.

When (and Where) to Use Colloidal Silver

I recommend using colloidal silver for the following conditions.

Respiratory Issues: There’s a good bit of research showing colloidal silver is great at fighting conditions related to the respiratory system, especially when it’s viral.

Since silver can be breathed in, it can help to reach many parts of your lungs that many treatments aren’t able to reach. Using a nebulizer, patients have been able to see the reversal in their symptoms in just a few days.

Unlike antibiotic treatments of bronchitis, Colloidal Silver will fight the cause, regardless if its bacterial or viral. Antibiotics will only treat bacteria, not viruses.

Pretty big hole in the defense wouldn’t you say?

Sinusitis: Again, colloidal silver is great for helping to treat the respiratory system. In particular the sinuses and sinus cavities.

The International Forum for Allergy and Rhinology reported it’s effective at fighting sinusitis when it’s sprayed into the nose via a nasal spray.

And, for allergy sufferers, there’s good news about Colloidal Silver use. Colloidal Silver combats Pseudomonas aeruginosa based infections. Since many, if not most, infections for allergy sufferers start with this bacteria, it’s being shown to have a huge benefit in that regard.

Topical Wounds: Again, since its antibacterial, you can use Colloidal Silver on topical wounds to help prevent infection.

Because it will keep pathogens at bay, you’ll find colloidal silver also works to promote rapid healing for many kinds of wounds.

A research article written by Pharmacognosy Communication said colloidal silver was highly recommended for the treatment of burns, thrush, periodontitis and other conditions.

Want to eliminate scarring? Colloidal Silver can likely help.

It’s even been shown to help benefit the skin of those who suffer from skin conditions.

Pink Eye: This one of the more frequent and more aggravating infections we see in the medical community.

Typically, it’s caused by either a viral or bacterial infection.

And, since you know that colloidal silver is a known antibacterial, you know it can help fight these kinds of infections.

The way it works is pretty interesting. Colloidal Silver, when dropped into the eyes, will attract the offending pathogen to it electromagnetically and then move it to the bloodstream so it’s then taken out of the body.

At the end of the day, we know Colloidal Silver’s great at fighting bacteria and viruses. Remember, it’s been shown to fight 650 of them!

That means there are going to be more than just 3 or 4 uses for colloidal silver.

You can use it when you have a cold or the flu.

And rather than relying on harsh chemicals, you might try it out when you’re trying to disinfect things in your home.

It’s got a great track record, but I’m always going to suggest talking to your healthcare provider first before you begin using it.
