These 3 Powerful Food Extracts Keep You In Great Health

In just a second I’m going to show you 3 incredibly powerful (and common) food extracts you can start taking today to keep you in great health.

But before I show you these extracts I need to ask you a question.

Ever heard the expression “let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food”?

I’m sure you have. If you’ve been reading my articles for any amount of time I know you’ve seen me write that line before. And if you’re a newer reader you’ve likely heard it elsewhere.

Want to know something interesting about that phrase?

It is a potentially illegal phrase.

I won’t go off on a huge tangent here, but I think it’s worth noting how this phrase could be illegal.

A few of the government’s regulatory bodies try and control what can legally be said about food as medicine.

Yes, it’s true.

I’m not legally allowed to tell you that food can replace medicine. For that matter, neither can anyone else.

However, there is a caveat to this. While I may not be able to tell you that certain foods can treat a condition or a disease, the government says I can legally tell you which foods and supplements to take to help keep you in a normal state of good health.

And the three powerful food extracts I’m about to show you may be some of the best ever discovered for experiencing phenomenal health.

3 Food Extracts Shown to Keep People In Great Health

When Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine said “let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food” he had no idea what went on inside of our food that gave it the power to support normal health.

All he knew was certain foods influenced our health in certain ways and that by loading up on the foods a person could positively affect how they felt.

Now that we have microscopes, centrifuges and hundreds of different scientific instruments, we know a great deal more about how food interacts with our body.

Today, I’d like to show you how bromelain, green tea extract, and milk thistle all work together to help you feel like a million bucks.

When taken on a daily basis these three food extracts can help you to live in a pain-free, energized, detoxified body.

Let me show you how they work.

1 - Bromelain:

Bromelain is generally extracted from pineapples. While I enjoy pineapples, I don’t normally recommend them as a dietary staple.

The reason why? They’re awfully high in sugar and if consumed in large amounts may disrupt a person’s dietary calorie goals.

And while bromelain is found in other food-sources, pineapple is one of the best sources for bromelain extraction.

Bromelain is a powerful proteolytic enzyme that helps to break down protein into amino acids.

This function of bromelain does a number of things for those consuming it. For one, it enables normal digestive function which is essential not only for nutrient extraction, but also normalizes how your G.I. tract feels during and after digestion.

When bromelain is present in high amounts it keeps your stomach feeling calm and balanced, which is what everyone wants after they enjoy any meal.

The way bromelain helps the body to breakdown food and create a normal, healthy digestive process is one of the main reasons I recommend it. My patients want to enjoy food and want the next few hours after a meal to feel no different than before they ate and bromelain helps with this.

Another very good reason to take bromelain is because bromelain helps your immune system function normally. In a normally functioning immune system not only are pathogens eliminated by the production of leukocytes (white blood cells for immune defense) but your body’s inflammatory response is regulated and controlled.

Bromelain helps to normalize your body’s inflammatory response. Out of control inflammation is not identified as a normal state of health. Which is why it’s desirable for you to do anything you can do to control inflammation to keep you in a normal state of health.

Bromelain has been shown to keep inflammatory markers like COX-2 and PGE-2 from running outside of the normal range, which will help to keep you in a normal state of good health.

If you’d like to see how else bromelain works I invite you to search for bromelain studies on the National Institute For Health’s website. Most of the research I would cite is there and very easy to find.

 2 - Green Tea Extract:

It’s pretty obvious where green tea extract comes from. If it wasn’t… it comes from green tea leaves.

What’s not so obvious is how green tea extract helps to keep you feeling great.

I’ve observed more than 11 different benefits for green tea extract. However, the principle reason I recommend it for patients has to do with how green tea extract helps to keep you free of occasional brain fog and reduces temporary states of anxiousness.

Green tea extract is rich in antioxidants.

And as you know, healthy cells need antioxidant protection so free-radicals do not induce oxidative damage on their DNA. I have an article on how antioxidants help fight free-radical oxidation here.

One of the main ways the antioxidants in green tea helps to keep your brain working like it should (and helps reduce temporary brain fog, occasional nervousness, and bouts of forgetfulness) is called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG for short).

EGCG is essential for keeping brain cells healthy as it shields them from possible oxidative stress.

Studies show that in general, green tea extract increases your body’s antioxidant capacity and helps to keep it working as it should be, resisting multiple forms of oxidative stress.

For example, one study had 35 obese people take 870 mg of green tea extract for eight weeks. Their blood antioxidant capacity increased from 1.2 to 2.5 μmol/L, on average.

Another way green tea extract can help you enjoy amazing health is by how it keeps your insulin levels within the healthy range.

Green tea extract has been shown to prevent insulin from periodically rising higher than it should.

Arlene Semesco MS RD wrote this:

“A study gave 14 healthy people a sugary substance and 1.5 grams of green tea or a placebo. The green tea group experienced better blood sugar tolerance after 30 minutes, and continued to show better results, compared to the placebo group.

Another study showed that green tea extract improved insulin sensitivity in healthy young men by 13%.”

Without a doubt, green tea extract is a great food extract to include in your diet so you maintain a state of normal, vibrant health.

3 - Milk Thistle

While milk thistle isn’t generally regarded as a food (mainly because it isn’t a food) it’s a great extract to include in your diet.

Why?

Because milk thistle helps to support your body’s detoxification processes on the occasion you’re exposed to excessively harmful toxins.

When toxins enter your body your liver is tasked with neutralizing and excreting them. Milk thistle supports your liver’s ability to detox effectively.

I recommend milk thistle for my patients in the event they’ve come into contact with higher numbers of toxic chemicals than usual or to enhance the liver’s ability to process alcohol.

By taking milk thistle, you not only support how the liver handles itself in those situations, it further promotes the health of your liver so it can deal with the pressure of life in an increasingly toxic world

In an effort to deliver these 3 extracts in high doses I created Plantioxidants.

Plantioxidants is a blend of 12 different food extracts I recommend to patients so they’re always healthy.

In addition to bromelain, green tea extract and milk thistle it contains 9 other food extracts.

All of these are in Plantioxidants, our powerful antioxidant blend.

The other 9 plant extracts are as follows.

1 - Turmeric Root: Turmeric is phytonutrient royalty. It’s been shown to help improve heart health, fight inflammation, support the immune system, may improve memory (and cognition) and much more.

2 - Quercetin: Comes from the skin of many fruits (where most phytonutrients live). I’ve written about it before, but it helps to fight inflammation better than most anything on the planet.

3 -  Rosemary: Not only is it a tasty herb, rosemary is one of the most powerful herbs around. It’s antiseptic (fights bacteria), can boost immune health, helps improve heart health, aids digestion and more

4- Grape Seed Extract: Most people see grape seed extract in ingredients, but don’t know what it does. The reason I take it is because it’s great for heart health, it has a therapeutic effect on the immune system, improves brain function and protects your cells from oxidative stress.

5 - Gingko Biloba: May improve cognition, helps to relieve symptoms of PMS, may help to restore vision, and can relieve headaches.

6 - Ginger Root: Another royal plant. Ginger helps with inflammation, gut health, brain health, boosts immunity, and helps ease joint pain.

7 - Hawthorn Extract: “Hawthorn berry is best known for its helpful toning effects on the heart. As a “cardiotonic herb,” hawthorn has shown itself to be impressively helpful for all kinds of serious heart concerns.”

8 - Cranberry Powder: Everyone knows about cranberry and UTIs. And there is some evidence it helps to relieve UTIs. But it also can improve brain function, help fight inflammation, increase cardiovascular function and fight off oxidative stress

9 - Bilberry Extract: This extract is a huge benefactor for the body’s natural response against inflammation and can help fight off of free radicals. It also has been shown to increase blood sugar control as well as helping to protect heart health.
