Bet You’ve Never Seen This Rare Fruit Before
What I’m about to show you has a pretty cool backstory.
As you know, fruits are generally considered to be some of the best foods at helping improve health.
From blueberries to apples, fruits are loaded with nutritive compounds shown to help fight cancer, reverse aging and so much more.
When most of us think about fruits that are good for you we think of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and more.
And when we think of superfruits… we typically think of tropical fruits like the Acai berry, Mangosteen and Goji berries.
Grapes, on the other hand, are never thought of as healthy.
Wine is thought of as healthy… but not grapes.
Part of that is because grapes are actually thought to be one of the least healthy fruits. Mainly because they’re extremely high in sugar. And while that may be true, the skins of grapes contain polyphenols and flavonoids which have been shown to alter health for the better.
Today I’m going to take a stand for grapes. But not just any grapes.
Yes, I know grapes grow all over the world and I shouldn’t discriminate.
But I will happily bash other grapes in favor of a very special kind of grape growing here in my backyard. And this grape is one of the most powerful health foods ever discovered.
It’s called the Muscadine grape.
Now let me show you what makes it so darn grape, I mean, great.
Why Muscadine Grapes Are One of The Most Powerful Superfoods Imaginable
I try not to use the word superfood that much.
Not because I don’t believe some foods aren’t necessarily superior at altering health… I just think superfood is a buzzword thrown around a little too often.
However, muscadine grapes truly are a “superfood.”
Found down here in the Southeastern part of the United States they’re unlike your garden variety grape you’d find in the grocery store. Muscadine grapes are a very large, very plump varietal. They have a much thicker skin than their European counterparts. And they only grow in hot, humid climates like those here in North Carolina.
Their large size doesn’t just make them a great snack... it also is what’s behind the frequent use of muscadine grapes in all kinds of foods (like jams, jellies and wine).
But what makes the muscadine grape so useful from a health perspective is this.
Muscadine grapes:
- Contain 6x the amount of resveratrol as regular grapes
- Are rich in free radical fighting ellagic acid (it is the only grape containing ellagic acid)
- Have 40x more antioxidants than regular grape varieties
- Are loaded with a form of vitamin E called tocotrienol
And much more.
Now that you know a little bit about muscadine grapes, let me show you exactly how muscadine grapes may help improve your health.
4 Ways Muscadine Grapes Can Help Improve Your Health
The main way muscadine grapes will influence your health is through their antioxidant activity.
Antioxidants have been shown to protect your cells from all kinds of free radical damage.
This protection may enhance your health in the following ways:
1 - May stop cells from uncontrolled growth: At times, cells in the human body sometimes decide to replicate out of control.
While the exact mechanism behind this has yet to be understood, uncontrolled cell growth can lead to some serious health problems.
Fortunately, the ellagic acid found in muscadine grapes may help to prevent this uncontrolled growth from happening in the first place.
As I mentioned, muscadine grapes are the only grape in the world known to contain ellagic acid.
There are a number of studies that show therapeutic use of muscadine grape extract (from the skin, seeds and stems) has the power to prevent cells from mutating and growing out of control.
Most importantly, they keep your cells from growing out of control AND they’re helpful at inducing a process called apoptosis, or programmed cell death, which may help stop cells that do start to grow out of control from growing any more.
2 - Can help improve fat loss: As a physician who’s always looking out for new treatments for fat loss (I believe fat loss is incredibly important in total health) I can’t speak highly enough to how muscadine grapes may aid in fat loss.
The key component in muscadine grapes that helps to aid fat loss is a very specific form of vitamin E called tocotrienol.
Researchers at the Universirty of Florida discovered muscadine oil containing tocotrienol may help the body’s fat cells from morphing into “fat storage pockets”
In a review of the study, the researchers wrote “The oil may help mitigate the formation of new fat cells because it produces tocotrienol, an unsaturated form of vitamin E, said Marty Marshall, a UF professor of food science and human nutrition.”
And the Journal of Nutrition wrote in an article that the way this works is because tocotrienols may help prevent baby fat cells from turning into adult fat cells that store fat.
3 - Has been shown to improve heart health: My alma mater, Wake Forest University, was the institution that linked muscadine grapes to improved heart health.
A 2010 study published by the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, discovered muscadine grapes could help to relax and dilate arteries. And while their study didn’t directly observe an increase in blood flow, other studies have shown relaxed and dilated arteries have been linked to increased blood flow.
Participants in the study who had known risk factors for cardiovascular conditions were asked to take 1,300 milligrams per day of muscadine grape seed extract for four weeks. The main observation the researchers made was the diameter of certain arteries increased, which implied potential blood pressure-lowering effects.
The researchers theorized it was the rich abundance of naturally occurring plant-based polyphenolic compounds that contributed to the favorable effects on endothelial function.
4 - Their antioxidant activity is incredibly high: As I noted above, muscadine grapes are incredibly rich in antioxidants.
But just to impress upon you how rich they are, take a look at this.
“In a study published in the April 2010 issue of the "Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry," muscadine grape seeds showed the highest antioxidant levels in the grape, followed by the skin and pulp.
The seeds contained 87 percent phenolic antioxidant compounds, skins contained 11.3 percent and pulp contained 1.6 percent. The researchers identified a total of 88 different antioxidant compounds in muscadine grapes, 43 of which occurred in the seeds. Seventeen of the compounds were unique to muscadine grapes.”
Introducing Health As It Ought To Be Muscadine Extract
If you’re one of my patients, chances are you know I used to work with Nature’s Pearl and recommended their muscadine extract.
The problem with Nature’s Pearl is they simply couldn’t supply us enough bottles and keep up with the demand our patients placed on their inventory levels.
So, I took matters into my hands, and decided I was going to make my own muscadine extract.
Today I’d like to introduce to you the HAIOTB Muscadine Grape Seed & Skins, a potent blend of seed and skin extract from the muscadine grape.
I take this supplement every single day because I believe it’s essential for great health.
This is why I recommend it to just about every single patient who walks into my office.

Our 650 mg capsules are quite potent and I imagine you’ll begin to notice the effects of taking muscadine grape seeds and skin extract in a matter of days.
