Why You Should Exercise AND Take This Supplement

Dr. Wiggy recently wrote an article on Zone 2 exercise.  He wrote about this kind of exercise because it's relatively easy on the body, doesn’t promote inflammation, enhances mitochondrial function and can also help you burn fat.

Today we’re going to follow up on that article with another on the benefit of exercise.

Basically, if you want to be healthy as a horse, live a long time, and feel amazing, then you want to exercise any way you can. Zone 1, Zone 5, it doesn’t matter.

And the reason for this is because of how it helps to influence your heart health.

Obviously your heart is extremely important to your total health. When heart function is compromised, that means blood doesn’t make its way through your body efficiently and if blood doesn’t get to where it needs to be, key nutrients can’t help to heal you, energize you, and you will eventually die an early death.

Exercise is great for your heart because it helps your heart work more effectively and offers smooth delivery of nutrients throughout the body. Arguably the most important is oxygen.

In a few seconds we’re going to talk about what exactly makes it so exercise benefits the heart so much.

  • Some physical activity is better than none.

  • For major health benefits, do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity each week. Each bout of activity should last at least 10 minutes. For example, walk briskly (moderate physical activity) five days a week for at least 30 minutes each time.

  • More physical activity will increase your health benefits.
  • Muscle-strengthening activities that are moderate or high intensity should be included two or more days a week. These activities should work all of the major muscle groups, including the legs, hips, back, chest, abdomen, shoulders and arms. Examples include lifting weights, working with resistance bands, sit-ups and push-ups, yoga and heavy gardening.

Additionally, it can make it so you’re able to pull oxygen out of the blood in greater amounts which actually reduces the need for the heart to pump more blood to the muscles.

Research shows that it can help reduce extra burden on the heart by lowering how many stress hormones it’s exposed to.  There’s even evidence to show that exercise works like the beta blocker class of drugs by lowering your heart rate and lowering blood pressure.

And amazingly, it helps to increase how much good cholesterol is circulating in the blood.
